- בָּהַר(b. h.; √בה, v. בהי; cmp. preced. ws.); Pi. בִּיהֵר or Hif. הִבְהִיר to shine brightly, be glossy; trnsf. to make ones self conspicuous, to boast. Lev. R. s. 15; Tanḥ. Thazr. 11 bahereth (Lev. 13:2) that is Yavan (Græco-Syria) שהיתה מְבָהֶרֶת עלוכ׳ (or מַבְהֶרֶת) that lorded it over Israel by her decrees; v. קֶרֶן.(Pi. בִּיהֵר to make clear. Pesik. R. s. 33, v. בָּחַר.
